Tell us a little more about how you got into music?
I guess you can say I have always been a musician, I started off in the church choir and went on to be in the band.
I played instruments throughout my life.
My mother is also a musician, so I guess you can say I inherited it.
Your music is such a vibe! What is your creative process when it comes to making music?
I hear songs from the ground up.
To elaborate, when I hear the beat I ask myself what is the setting that I hear?
Is it more spacious or lofty?
Then I link a feeling to that sound.
What emotions or experiences do I have that coincide to this melody?
What would you say to aspiring artists who look up to your music?
Don't follow trends, the culture changes so frequent that it is impossible to always keep up with what is popular.
Follow your own sound, you have to be you at all cost.
I have lost so many fans trying to be someone I wasn't and gained an abundant amount of support just being unapologetically Lyric Reddick.
Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?
I am actually working on my first solo EP entitled "Becoming."
It's more personal than a lot of my other music.
I touch on what it took to become Lyric Reddick, I talk on family, relationships, success and shortcomings.
There was a lot of reflection involved in creating the EP, and I believe that my fans will find it relatable and see me in a new light.
