MEET ANDREW JOSEPH ZARAGOZA: DIRECTOR & POET

Andrew, tell us more about how you got into poetry & writing.

I got into poetry as a result of picking up and learning about the authors that contributed to the art.

Bukowski heavily inspired me and his story was so compelling.

In addition to the writers, hip-hop heavily inspired me as well, from learning about storytelling through music as well as the classics.

My contemporaries also inspire me to continue the good work.

You are truly a jack of all trades; tell us more about GraphicsByAndrew.

Hmm, well GraphicsbyAndrew is an idea more than anything else.

I wanted to create something that captured me and what I wanted to do when building something to leave behind.

So yeah, GraphicsbyAndrew.

I make graphics.

They're by me.

I also make music, create visual art, and have speaking engagements from time to time.

What would you say to aspiring writers/graphic designers who look up to your work?

Keep designing.

Keep writing.

Keep breaking your comfort zone.

It's so much better on this side.

Whether it's recognition, honor, or personal pursuit.

The biggest thing I'd say is to continue to keep chipping away regardless of any opinion.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

Hmm, well I do have one thing to announce.

I plan to release segments of my book in a visualization anthropology series, fusing music that I had created earlier this year.

I'm forecasting about ten different selections of my personal favorites from the book I released last month.

More to come on that very soon.
