This is Dora.
Dora, you have created a successful career in modeling. Could you tell us a little more about how your modeling career got started?
Yes, it all started when I passed the difficult casting process to participate in Miss Universe Canada.
Once I was selected and made it as a finalist, a few international model and talent agencies signed me in Toronto, Canada.
After that, I began working internationally.
I have appeared most recently on the cover of Playboy, because I support female empowerment and body positivity,.
But, I will be sticking to my fashion brand and appearing in Harpers Bazaar and Gmaro magazines shortly.
You truly are a jack of all trades! When did you decide to get into acting?
Acting is my true passion.
I’ve been lucky to be able to land amazing modeling gigs around the world due to my height, etc.
However, I realized how much I enjoy acting when I started off small, just doing some commercials in Toronto and then a music video for the Trinidad and Tobago soca carnival, and then shot another commercial in the Amazonian Jungle of Peru.
I have to be “perfect” when modeling.
When acting, I get to be many different characters.
And all of them are imperfect, which is more realistic.
As a successful model & actress, what would you say to aspiring models & fans who look up to you?
I would say be relentless in the pursuit of your dreams.
There is no dream that is too big nor too small.
Whatever you really want to do in life is valid.
Just make sure you put in the work and effort that it takes to achieve your dreams and stay focused.
It might take some time, but it’ll be worth it.
The world is a small place and you could achieve your dream in any country, really.
Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?
For modeling, yes.
I have Gmaro and Harpers Bazaar coming out this summer, amongst other publications.
For acting, I can’t disclose the projects yet, but please stay tuned!
