MEET POCAHONTAS: WRITER & SINGER

This is Pocahontas.

Pocahontas, tell us more about how you got into music & songwriting.

I’ve been in the music and entertainment industry since I was two years old.

I did talent shows, auditions, sang at weddings, parties, you name it!

I was signed to an agency and appeared in movies and Disney channel shows as a background extra.

When people heard me sing, I was signed to do background vocals in children’s music.

I wrote my first song when I was ten years old.

I'm also self taught, playing many instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, and violin.

Lyrics just come to me.

I can’t explain it sometimes.

I could be in the middle of doing something and boom, I start writing and recording.

I can write a song within a minute or less.

What would you say is the most difficult aspect about launching a career in music??

What’s difficult is trying to find the right audience for your music.

You can have the best songs, but it will never get to the level you want until you can reach as many people as you can.

There’s so many people on this planet that it takes a lot of investing to get the right amount of exposure.

You are also known as a model & actress! What would you say to aspiring models/actresses/artists who look up to your work?

I always tell other artists to never give up!

Invest in yourself!

That’s the only way to reach your dreams.

Don’t let anything stop you.

Even though some days can be feisty, keep going because you never know what important person is watching you!

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?:

I released an album for July 4 and I have new music for the next album.

I'm always writing and recording music everyday.

I also started a charity organization called, "DonatingHelps"!

I want to help all people and all communities.

No matter what type of help or services they need, I want give back to those who need it the most.

That’s my passion, to help others.
