ARTIST ON THE WATCH: D KIRK (KV) DROPS "LIKE THAT"

D Kirk, tell us a little more about the creative process for your newest single "Like That".

Hey guys!

Its a pleasure to be selected as Artist On The Watch for DARK Magazine!

The creative process was I had involved me searching a couple of beats on YouTube.

I listened to a couple West coast/Roddy Rich/DJ Mustard/Lil Mosey sounding tracks and came across a producer who goes by the name of 2300.wav.

I found a beat from him and me and Rayven had already talked about collaborating for a long time.

That West Coast sound of the beat had me thinking that Rayven needed to be on this record so I sent it to him.

He came up with the hook in liteally a couple of hours and we named the song "Like That."

Basically, the song is describing a female who is playing games with your emotions; at one moment saying that she wants you and then the next acting like she doesn't know you.

Too many people are concerned about swagger and popularity and thats what this song is all about.

After the hook, I laid my two verses down in my studio in Philadelphia after Rayven sent his from California and we got the East and West Coast connection going on!

What was it like working with Rayven Justice?

Working with Rayven Justice was amazing.

His work ethic and him being like a big brother and mentor to me in the game also are ideas meshed well together especially when you work with someone as talented as him you just go hard on the song.

I think we did just that.

We had fun, expressed ourselves, and just wanted to give you guys that West Coast meets East Coast vibes, feel good energy.

I’d definitely work again with Rayven that’s like family now.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

Yes!

I have the part two album of my debut album Oceans titled “Waves”coming in October/November.

“Like That” is the the 2nd Single from the album and I'm also releasing the music video to my 1st single “My Type” and dropping the 3rd single “Baddie” real soon.

Lots of movement and fun vibes! I'm excited to show you guys all the hard work and fun!
