ARTIST ON THE WATCH: TENIELE G.

Teniele, tell us a little more about how you first got into music!

Let’s see, growing up I was always surrounded by music; mostly R&B, reggae, and gospel.

I was really drawn into artists like Usher, Aaliyah, and as I got older Lil Bow Wow became very popular.

Lil Bow Bow and I were about the same age, so seeing someone that young who was a star motivated me.

I started writing and rapping at the age of ten and performing at the age of fourteen outside of church and school choirs.

You have such an incredible voice! What is your creative process when it comes to making songs?

Thank you!

It really depends on the moment.

I could just be driving and I’ll start singing or rapping a few lines and then I’ll go back to it later and write an entire song.

I would then listen to beats and I’ll adjust my lyrics as needed or I’ll write while listening to a beat.

What would you say to aspiring singers who look up to your music?

If you love it, put your all into it.

That means learning about your craft everyday, and aiming to become better than the day before.

Don’t let the no's deter you from your goals and happiness.

Strive for greatness at all times and don’t compare yourself to others.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

Yes!

I plan on releasing an R&B album called, “Known to Love R&B”.

I don’t have a definite date yet.

I’m thinking about releasing another single before dropping it and hopefully another music video.
