ARTIST ON THE WATCH: TOON 1HUNNIT

Toon, tell us a little more about how you got into music?

I got into music at a young age.

It started with just writing lyrics then gradually I started rapping over any instrumental I could get my hands on at the time.

I couldn't afford studio time so me and my older brother would record ourselves on a free recording program on a computer in our grandma's house.

The quality was terrible in the beginning but after making some adjustments we was able to make some great music out of that apartment.

I owe a lot of my work ethic habits to that part of my journey.

Your style is such a vibe! What is your creative process when it comes to making new music?

It really depends on what mood I'm in.

Sometimes, I can be an introvert and sometimes I want to be surrounded by great people during my creativity process.

But as soon as that beat hits, I zone out.

Freestyle some lyrics to myself to catch the vibe, find a melody if the song calls for it.

Most of the time the beat helps the song write itself so I go with flow and make any adjustments on the fly.

You are a very respected artist; What would you say to aspiring artists who look up to your work?

Consistently work.

I'm always working.

At times I still get discourage but people can not deny hard work.

Something will stick if you do it enough.

Everybody's path isn't the same.

Music is a vibe, eventually they will catch on.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

Yes, I have an EP dropping September 11th. "100 Days" along with some great visuals for my singles  "Money Marathon and "Can Not Relate."

I'm very proud of this project.

The title was influenced by a quote "it takes 30 days to create a habit, and 100 days to change your lifestyle"

This EP is the start of my 100 days journey
