Breakthrough Artist (February 2021): Azazel The Marine

Tell us a little more about how you first got into music?

I have always had a love for HipHop.

I found my sound after the government shutdown because of COVID 19.

To be an independent artist takes a lot of work and patience.

I kept perfecting my craft until I got to a point where I was able to get a more professional look to my brand.

What does your creative process look like when it comes to writing songs?

I may listen to a hundred beats before I dedicate my time to one.

My inspiration comes from my experience in the military reflecting in my music.

I believe that HipHop is a tool to bring knowledge to the people.

Some how we have lost sight of that and I inspire to bring that raw lyricism.

What would you say to any aspiring artists who look up to your work?

It’s a long road with a lot of speed bumps.

I keep pushing because I love it not because I’m trying to gain something from it.

Not everyone is gonna understand who you are and what you’re craft represents.

Do not get discouraged when things don’t go your way, the key is to always get better and never stop getting better.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

I have a collaboration album that is due to release sometime in February 2021.

I plan to drop an album sometime in 2021.
