CHILLAH ROSE: BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST & PRODUCER

This is Chillah Rose.

Chillah, you are a very respected artist. Could you tell us more about how your passion for music started?

For sure!

I was eleven years old when I recorded my first song!

A couple of my older cousins started a muzik label and made me a part of it.

That lasted for as long as it could.

Eventually, that situation dissolved right around the time I turned 16, due to some unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances.

Around that same time my passion for writing and recording muzik had taken on its own form.

I considered myself a real “rapper” then.

I developed a different love for the muzik and it’s art as a whole.

I’d learn how to really express myself through my lyrics, it became therapeutic for me.

By the time I turned 19 years of age, I hit the ground running doing my own thing which is when I really knew that I wanted to do this as a career and be a part of it for the rest of my life.

You write about overcoming obstacles during difficult times, what would you say to aspiring artists who look up to you?

I would start by telling them to dream and to never stop no matter what.

Even when things get hard and seem impossible!

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and if there ever is a time that you are down, never let that last too long.

Pick yourself back up and keep fighting the good fight.

Exercise your mental strength.

Nothing is over until it’s over!

The different obstacles and adversities we face throughout our lifetime is what makes us who we are.

This is what builds and shapes our character.

I'm grateful for the things I've experienced in life; the highs to the lows.

The build ups and the let downs really taught me how to live life on life’s terms.

No dream is too big!

Never underestimate yourself or your capabilities.

With hard work and dedication and one can accomplish anything!!!

In late April, you dropped your highly anticipated 3rd full length album, "Rose In A Garden Of Fire." What did that album mean to you?

I'm very conceptual with all of my muzik.

Every project has some sort of deep personal meaning to me one way or another.

Every album/project is its own chapter in my life story.

“Rose in a Garden of Fire” is the part of my life story that may be the most difficult part yet.

I have a lot of things that have happened and caused some very significant changes in my life.

Records like “Hate Me”, “Keep It G”, and “Reaper” to name few, are all records that I share actual experiences on.

Very real and honest stories I share with the listeners.

I also collaborated with five of the hottest producers and had 13 of the 16 records on the album featuring some of the hottest artists I’ve ever worked with.

This was also a huge part of the inspiration behind the album and it’s title.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

I have a project titled “Locked In” that I collaborated with Dj Kam Bennett on, he produced all 12 tracks on the album.

“Locked In” is set to release at the end of August 2020.

I also have a bunch of new videos as well as another short film set to go into production here in the next 30 days.

Now that the country has reopened and I can actually move around with my team and get things done.
