ARTIST ON THE WATCH: LOYAL XI

This is Loyal XI.

Loyal XI, tell us more about how you got started in music?

It was 2012 when I first got started in music, that’s when I started to take it serious.

I was just a 16 year old kid that would write songs in class and then sing or rap what I had wrote to my friends around campus.

One of the teachers caught wind of it and told me about a program that helped kids with aspirations to be in the arts.

I went to an orientation, got to sit in the studio for the first time and made it a goal to be in the studio everyday after school and I did!

That’s where the passion kidded in.

What is the most difficult aspect about launching a career in music?

Politics; that’s the most difficult part.

It’s not just about the music, having a music career means you are now a business.

Business isn’t always fun, but having the love and passion for what you do is what keeps you pushing and building.

How would you describe your style/sound and how is it different from others?

My style/sound is the perfect mix between R&B and Hip Hop.

Since I was a kid, I never liked the feeling of being boxed in; I also include that in my music.

I’m a creative with the ability to apply the best of both worlds.

If I feel a song needs some singing, I’ll sing. If I feel the song needs some rapping, I’ll rap and sometimes I’ll include both.

What makes my music different from others, is my perspective.

I believe everything has been done before, but how you make it your own is what makes it uniquely you.

Do you have anything new or upcoming that we can expect to see from you?

I do!

I’m currently working on releasing more new music and visual content.

This work is my best work yet, and I just can’t wait for everyone to hear it, enjoy it, and share it amongst others.
